They are methodical, use age and grade, and appropriate methods of teaching to motivate and instill confidence in the students. The subject areas we cover are.

Reading

The eWebStudy Reading Program stresses on the importance of learning to read. Reading for appreciation and enjoyment, differentiating fact and opinion as well as understanding different literacy types, are all important skills. A skill gap in reading is sure to make advanced learning demanding and strenuous. Hence our online English tutor focuses on finding skill gaps, reducing it and then strengthening the reading skills of the students. This instills confidence and encourages them to read independently.

eWebStudy Reading Program has been designed to be consistent with the findings of the National Reading Panel. The topics covered in the Reading program tackle problems in:

  • Phonetics - systematic and explicit instructions are given for phonemic awareness.
  • Phonics - phonic elements are taught in a planned sequence.
  • Fluency - guided oral reading to correct mistakes.
  • Vocabulary - introduces words and meanings directly and indirectly as words appearing in larger texts.
  • Reading Comprehension - teaches methods and strategies to recall information, summarizing the information by skimming and scanning through the text.

eWebStudy Reading Program teaches students to understand what they read and also to hone their verbal and listening skills.

Writing

Tutors at eWebStudy believe that every student has the ability to write effectively. But lack of confidence, inadequate writing skills or practice, and poor time management, prevent students from producing efficient writing.

Our live Online Writing Program is consistent with the guidelines of National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Online English Tutor works with the student to improve his/her vocabulary, grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structuring and paragraph development. The online tutor also ensures that the students learn to write proficiently by

  • Learning how to choose an appropriate topic.
  • Organizing the matter logically.
  • Writing in different styles.
  • Reviewing the work done.

Grammar

Our online tutors at eWebStudy agree with the resolution passed by the National Council of Teachers of English that-"... the use of isolated grammar and usage exercises not supported by theory and research is a deterrent to the improvement of students' speaking and writing, and that, in order to improve both of these, class time at all levels must be devoted to opportunities for meaningful listening, speaking, reading, and writing and that NCTE urge the discontinuance of testing practices that encourage the teaching of grammar rather than English language arts instruction.

Hence, at eWebStudy, students learn grammar and its usage by studying how the language works in context.

To evaluate and personalize the specific needs of the student in English, Academic Director first administers the Student Initial Evaluation Test (SIET). The test results help the English tutor to precisely formulate a learning plan for the child. Enroll your child with the eWebStudy and see them overcome their inhibitions and become competent readers and talented writers.
