eWebStudy Student Initial Evaluation Test (SIET)

Many a time parents see their children struggle with their grades or notice that they perform well in some subjects but are unable to cope with others. A weak foundation goes unnoticed in the early stages. It won't be long before the child struggles to catch up, leaving him/her further frustrated and disappointed. This is because some children lack certain essential skills. We define these as skill gaps, which need to be filled up for them to perform well at school.

eWebStudy conducts a skill gap analysis test, which compares the student's skills with the skills required for completing the course, to identify the performance improvement opportunities by administering the Student Initial Evaluation Test or SIET.

Student Initial Evaluation Test is conducted in the presence of our Academic Coordinator, who constantly monitors the students as they take the test. The test is based on the previous year's curriculum. It measures the student's performance in the specific subject - English, Math or Science that the student requires tutoring in.

The Student Initial Evaluation Test is for one hour and consists of multiple choice and application questions, which are broken into three sections- Easy, Intermediate and Difficult.

Easy Section:

50% of the questions are from this section. The questions in this section test the student's knowledge about the given topic. The student's ability to recall and recognize concepts taught in the previous grade are assessed. Once the student successfully completes all the questions in this section, he/she can progress to the next level of the testing.

Intermediate Section:

The student's understanding of the concepts is tested in this section and constitutes 30% of the questions in the test. The student's competence in explaining concepts previously learnt, citing examples, describing the processes and defining topics are evaluated. If the student answers all the questions in the intermediate section, then he/she is administered the Difficult section.

Difficult Section:

The learning process is incomplete if the student cannot apply the concepts in appropriate context. Hence this section tests the student's ability to apply the concepts learnt and constitutes the remaining 20% of the questions. The student's aptitude in articulating, analyzing and applying the concepts effectively is tested.

Scoring and Analysis:

The student receives one point for each correct answer. The student gets half point if he/she is able to complete the question with some assistance from the Academic Coordinator. The tutor tabulates the score and represents it in percentage.

The Academic Coordinator then evaluates the performance of the student. The student and their parents get a detailed feedback on the student's performance in the SIET. After collecting the feedback from parents, the Academic Coordinator assigns the student to an appropriate tutor.

Based on the SIET results and feedback from parents, the Academic Coordinator and tutor design a customized tutoring model for the student. Subsequent testing at regular intervals helps to monitor the student's progress. We guarantee you rise in scores within the first few months of tutoring.
